History
The concept for senior service programs at Creekside Place embraces the words of our benefactor. “I want seniors to be well taken care of and to have something they truly enjoy.”
Programs at Creekside Place take into account the wide range of activities that appeal to active seniors. Fitness activities keep minds and bodies sharp, group lunches provide nutritional and social benefits, and informational programs educate and entertain.
The Evansville community lost a friend when Mary passed away in February 2016. In a 2009 article in The Janesville Gazette, Mary said, “The community has been good to us, and it was just a way of repaying.”
“I thought we needed a new senior center,” she said. “I had money that I could spare. I thought maybe this would get something going for Evansville.”
It certainly did that, Mary. The staff and board of Creekside Place thank you for your spirit, your vision and your generous gift that made this possible.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our benefactor, Mary Peckham, in February 2016. Thanks to Mary’s generosity and foresight, Creekside Place has become a place for all community members – and especially seniors – to gather for social and educational activities. We will never forget her!
